It’s no secret that I love Evangeline Lily. And I mean love in every way… ever since Lost, she has been one of my favourite actresses and having her in the MCU is pretty awesome.

And, let’s be honest, she knocked it out of the park as Hope Van Dyne and left us wanting more with the reveal of The Wasp suit at the end.

Now, at NYCC 2016, the actress has revealed a bit more about the character’s superhero alter ego and teased a future appearance in the Avengers line-up.

The full interview with Blastr is available to watch below but here’s the details: “I have talked to Peyton about where they’re heading, and what they want to focus on. I’m excited because it’s essentially going to be the origin of The Wasp. We’re going to see The Wasp for the first time.”

Pretty cool, the Wasp has a lot of story to be covered – remember her mother was the first Wasp and her story was teased out in Ant-man, but after that?

“Following that one, there’s an Avengers series coming out, a two-parter. The Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part because they really want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man & The Wasp.”

Great news… the MCU continues to grow (ans shrink) and it’s awesome sauce

Ant-Man & The Wasp will unite on July 6, 2018.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
