PICTURE ROUND-UP: Superman: Man Of Steel, Jack The Giant Killer, Sin City 2 and Snowpiercer

January 6th, 2013 by Marc Comments

It’s the latest edition of our semi-regular – and by that we mean not at all regular – picture round-up. It’s the best images floating around the web this week.

First up, a rather serious looking Superman in the shape of Henry Cavill in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man Of Steel reboot of the Superman mythos:

Next up, is this the first character poster for Frank Miller’s Sin City sequel A Dame To Kill For, directed by Robert Rodriquez? Playboy model Crystal McCahill (@Crystalmccahil) tweeted the below image in December  with the messages:  ‘What a fun day shooting! Can’t wait to say what it was for! But I have too.’ and ‘Getting hair and make up done for my part with Micky Rourke in Sin City 2. 🙂 As for the exact character? We’re not sure but rumour is she’s one of the Old Town prostitutes…

Next up is a new poster for Jack The Giant Killer from Bryan Singer, giving us what would appear to be a good look at the giant himself:

Finally, The Host director Bong Joon-ho’s English language debut Snowpiercer has had some concept art and an early poster released. The cast is impressive, the artwork looks like the movie has a grand range from the epic to the claustrophobic. The Weinstein company will be looking to release the adaptation of French novel Le Transperceneige in the summer probably. The story centres around the last of society who have survived the end of the world in a submarine, but revolt is on the cards…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
