R-rated animated Watchmen movie coming from Warners?

April 15th, 2017 by Marc Comments

While the ending may be significantly changed, we find it hard to truly criticise Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.

The original unfilmable graphic novel was brought to the big screen with a lot of style, capturing the heart and soul of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons classic.

Now it seems that a recent survey by Warner Bros. A-List Community program which gathers information gathered from their viewers/readers has revealed the following:

“A faithful adaptation of the Watchmen graphic novel executed in an animation style that mirrors the source material”? it sounds like Warners want to put the original tale out there with the ending written by Moore intact and it also sounds like the movie is either well into production or has finished already.

If this is a case then the final release may not be that far away. We certainly didn’t see this coming given that Watchmen is currently in the processes of becoming a TV series (here).

With the TV series and the Watchmen being written into the proper DC universe with DC Rebirth, it looks like Watchmen is enjoying it’s flavour of the month. Again.

Let us know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
