We know for a fact that Batman is going to be in the upcoming Suicide Squad. But the question now is, why? At first, it was believed he was being targeted by Waller, and that the Squad would be used to get something that could be used against him. Then, via pics from the set, it was believed he would be part of flashback scenes to show how both Joker and Harley ended up not only together, but in prison.
Now, there may be a different reason Batman shows up, and it all has to do with Amanda Waller:
“You see Batman is totally against the concept behind the Suicide Squad, in fact he warns Waller that he will hold her personally responsible for any innocents The Joker & the rest of the Suicide Squad kill. A warning so stern that he has to visit Waller personally to deliver the message.”
Interesting, and not too far from what has happened in the comics AND in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon. Batman does NOT take it lightly when someone goes “outside the lines”, and the Suicide Squad are definitely that. There’s still a lot of unanswered questions though, we’ll have to see how it all fits together.
