It looks like the Blade reboot may be moving forward at Marvel is the latest rumors are to be believed.

We’ve known for a while that Blade was set for the MCU with Wesley Snipes himself fanning the flames by saying he was in talks with Marvel and then rumours suggesting that, like the comics, Blade may now be the original Blade’s daughter.

Now Collider (see below) are reporting that the Blade reboot is being discussed and already “a very short-list of actors that includes Michael B. Jordan and Birth of a Nation’s Nate Parker; with relative unknowns Aml Ameen who had a small role in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, and Elijah Kelley from Red Tails and Hairspray” are in the sights, with a summer filming being rumoured.

Now we are a little confused as to what way this will happen. We aren’t sure how Blade’s vampire-filled world would fit into the MCU’s big screen world (although, don’t get us wrong, we love that he might) as it’s hard to do bright and fun vampire movies, however we could totally see Blade in the Netflix shows.

As for Michael B Jordan potentially as Blade – we aren’t sure how we feel about this, but we can see it happening. Oh and PLEASE bring Wesley Snipes back as the original Blade… almost the Whistler of this universe.

Ok, let us know how you feel about Blade coming into the MCU in all the usual ways.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
