Director Doug Liman has revealed that the script for Edge of Tomorrow 2 is all finished, however that doesn’t mean that the the movie will start filming for a while yet with the two main cast members currently busy with prior commitments.
Tom Cruise is currently busy doing back-to-back Mission: Impossible movies to build up the ever-growing franchise, so it’s rather unlikely that he’ll be able to juggle Edge of Tomorrow in between so, for now, Liman has had to put it on hold.
Co-star Emily Blunt is also quite busy working on multiple projects both in pre and post production with the likes of A Quiet Place 2 and Jungle Cruise both set to be released next year.
The original, although it was lacking in the box-office, was a well-written and grounded story, even if personally I’m not the biggest fan of Tom Cruise, the writing truly saved it.
Now, with scheduling conflicts obviously there isn’t any news on when filming will start or if there’s any new cast members to be joining but as soon as we know, you’ll know, and until then stay nerdy folks.
