SDCC 2022: Marvel Round-up – Phase 4 ends, Phase 5 and 6 details drop! New release dates, Avengers, trailers and more

July 24th, 2022 by Marc Comments

Well, here’s the round-up of the biggest panel at SDCC 2022, the MArvel Panel.

Let’s start off with a piece of news we did not see coming – Kevin Feige says: “This November, Phase Four comes to a close with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” we did not see that coming.

Ok, on to the good stuff.

She-Hulk first:

She-Hulk is described as a 30-min comedy series…

Trailer:

That final appearance really caught our attention – She-Hulk’s CGI still looks off but this looks like a lot of fun.

Marvel’s  Phase 5 line-up:

Thunderbolts July 26th, 2024.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos streaming Winter 2023
Captain America: New World Order May 3rd, 2024.
Ironheart  streaming Fall 2023
Blade will release on November 3, 2023
Daredevil Reborn streaming Spring 2024 – 18 episodes!
Loki Season 2 streaming Summer 2023

Captain America: New World Order official logo:

Thunderbolts logo:

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 logo:

Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji is the high evolutionary, below – channelling Robocop.

Maria Bakalova stars as Cosmo the dog… we met him – her, I suppose now – briefly in Guardians Vol 2

Baby Rocket Raccoon will appear… wearing a uniform that will be very familiar to fans of the comics, left.

Daredevil: Reborn logo

Phase 5 graphic:

Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania:

Bill Murray confirmed appearing in the movie.

And, yes, MODOK will be appearing too… some believe Murray will BE the villainous superbrain. UPDATE: He’s not, he’s an alien in the movie with someone else still set for MODOK role… Jim Carrey, perhaps? We can hope.

So, we’re heading into Phase 6 news…

Welcome to the Multiverse Saga:

This is big! We’re not even into Phase 5 yet – Phase 4 ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, this November – but we have some big, big news.

The Phase will kick off with Fantastic 4 and, while there’s still lots to be announced, we’re also getting two Avengers movies within six months!

Fantastic 4 releases on November 8th 2024
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, in theaters May 2, 2025
Avengers: Secret Wars will release on November 8, 2025

We’re guessing this is an Infinity Saga sort of deal…

Plenty of slots still to fill…

We’re guessing that more will be revealed at D23 in September.

Last up, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

Tenoch Huerta and Dominique Thorne, Namor and Ironheart respectively in the movie… welcome to Atlantis!:

Director Ryan Coogler on making the movie without the late Chadwick Boseman, says: “I promise you that I can feel his arm on my shoulder right now.”

Michaela Coel will star as Aneka in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – she was amazing in I Will End You, can’t wait to see what she does here:

Trailer:

Based on the trailer, it seems that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa will have passed away in-universe too:

It really looks like Atlantis and Namor are going to be an integral part of the story and not a reference or two… this is exciting news, indeed.

Poster:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
