It looks like the Shazam! movie is set to cast a pretty major character…
Word on the nerdvine is that This Is Us actor Ron Cephas Jones is close to signing the dotted line to play The Wizard in the New Line DC Cinematic Universe entry.
In the comics The Wizard is the one who gives young Billy Batson (played here Asher Angel) the ability to become a the godlike superhero who will be played by Zachary Levi.
The movie will star Zachary Levi in the title role and Asher Angel as young Billy Batson who becomes the hero of legend when he utters the magic word ‘Shazam!’ along with Mark Strong as the villainous Doctor Sivana along with Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews and Faithe Herman.
David F. Sandberg is on board to direct from a script by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.
It will be released on April 5th, 2019
