Shazam!’s Zachary Levi gets haircut to look like the character he is depicting

February 26th, 2018 by Ciaran McElherron Comments

In shocking comic book movie news former Chuck star, Zachary Levi, who is taking on the lead role of Shazam! in the movie, em, Shazam!, has shared a picture of himself in the make-up chair sporting the classic hair style of Billy Batson: the superhero’s alter ego.

The creative forces behind the Shazam! movie have taken great pains to point out the different comics that will influence the film.  The hairstyle is from the original comics, but the costume is said to be closer to the one seen in the recent Justice League: War animated movie – this one:

That costume, in turn, was inspired by a mix of Shazam’s costume from the New 52 and the even more classic costume from when he was originally called Captain Marvel. That’s more classics than a Foxes biscuit factory!

Details have been drip fed to the fans since production began in January 2018.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who had been circling the role of Black Adam, Shazam’s arch enemy, is on board to produce the movie and there are even rumours that Henry Cavill may appear in the movie.

Arriving in theatres on April 5th, 2019, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi as the titular hero, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
