When a film is successful, it almost always gets a sequel, in order to make as much money as possible. These sequels can be other films, tv series or comics. Rare is the day when a film gets a sequel before its release, unless of course is a trilogy such as the Hobbit or, in this case, Deadpool.

With the failure of The Fantastic Four still lingering on, it’s unsurprising that Fox has decided to go all in with Deadpool and now producer Simon Kinberg has commented on Deadpool and the possible sequel: “I have seen a rough cut of Deadpool and it’s fantastic. It’s a really good movie. It delivers on the promise of the trailer. We certainly are talking about the sequel… But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we’re all feeling really proud of it.”

The most amazing point of this is the character that is likely set to appear in the sequel has also been discussed. Cable is that character: “It’s certainly come up because he’s such a big character in the world. And it’s a character that I’ve always wanted to do in one form or another, we talked about Cable actually in Days of Future Past at one point. But yeah we’re in such the early stages of sequel talk it would be genuinely premature for me to say whether or not he was gonna be in it.”

Two things, why wasn’t he in days of future past? And why do we have to wait such a long time for him to appear?

For those who don’t know him here is a brief description from the Marvel wikia:  “A powerful mutant telepath and telekinetic, Nathan was so powerful that his powers manifested at a young age. After his mother died trying to sacrifice him, Nathan was infected by Apocalypse with the Techno-Organic Virus, that was set to kill him, until his father sent him into the future for treatment. After being raised as the Askani’son, the one destined to kill Apocalypse, in the Clan Askani religion, Nathan became a hardened warrior and brilliant tactician.”

A man with the power to take on Apocalypse is someone that clearly should not be messed with.

Deadpool is set for release in February 2016
