Get ready for the new daily show

So, the Black Widow movie may be r-rated after all

I’m not going to lie, this rumour started up a while back but we ignored it because, honestly, we didn’t think there was any chance of it being real… but here we are.

Word is that Marvel are considering making the Black Widow movie their first r-rated outing in the MCU.

Hollywood gossip blog Crazydaysandnights is reporting that yes, Marvel/Disney are considering making the movie an experiment to see how it will be recieved by audiences.

Lore’s director Cate Shortland is helming the standalone outing starring Scarlet Johansson with the movie expected to take place in the character’s past, before we first met her in Iron Man 2.

Honestly, we can see no reason to do this as the MCU is now well-established as a family franchise, although we have been thinking about it and it may be a backdoor way to pull the characters from the Netflix shows – Daredevil, Punisher etc – into the MCU and establish a darker corner wherein characters from both worlds can interact.

But, in all honesty, we don’t see this happening… but you never know. If the MCU is to survive, it will eventually have to shake things up.

What say you all?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
