Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie gets official title card, release date and is Jason Momoa set to play Knuckles?

February 10th, 2021 by Marc Comments

Well, we have the official title card for the Sonic the Hedgehog sequel and it’s called… exactly what you think it’d be called.

Yes, the official title is Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Althought, it is notable that the ‘2’ had Tails’ tails on there. On top of this, we know the movie will officially be released reasonably soon as the official release date in April 8, 2022.

We’re also seeing reports that the movie, as well as featuring Sonic and Tails, it will feature Knuckle:

“Knuckles the Red Echidna, will indeed have a role in the second movie. Many assumed that Knuckles may have a simple cameo appearance, similar to Tails in the original. However, our sources have indicated that he will have a relevant role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, that will be larger than a cameo.

“Additionally, Knuckles will stay true to his video game incarnation, as he will be able to glide, as well climb walls. They are currently casting an actor to voice Knuckles and his personality was described to us as serious in nature, but still gullible at times.”

According to the new report, the role has been offered to none other than Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa.

If true, Momoa will be joining returning stars James Marsden, Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz although, it is possible Knuckles, like Tails in the first movie, will be nothing more than a cameo setting up the next movie.

Personally, while it didn’t change my world, I enjoyed the first movie and would be well up for going to a sequel.

What say you all? Any Sonic fans in the house… let me hear your thoughts on all this.
