The Sony Marvel/Spider-man movie universe is set to get bigger again with a director found for the Kraven the Hunter movie.
While many believed that Kraven could end up being the villain in the third MCU Spider-man movie, that looks fairly unlikely at this stage as Sony have made it clear they plan on bringing him to the big screen on a solo adventure.
Sony has got behind A Most Violent Year and Triple Frontier’s JC Chandor to direct the Kraven movie.
The movie will also be written by The Equalizer’s Richard Wenk, and is reportedly still based on the Kraven’s Last Hunt story where the hunter decides Spider-man is the biggest game out there and sets out to put his head on his wall.
Going back two years (here), Wenk has said he was instructed to write Spider-man into the story and since we now know that Venom and Morbius are a part of the MCU, then there’s no reason why we can’t see Tom Holland’s Spider-man appear.
This joins the (rumoured) Spider-woman movie set to be directed by Olivia Wilde (here), both of which will join Venom, Mobius and Venom: Let There Be Blood as being connected to the MCU if not necessarily a part of the core story. In other words they happen in the MCU, just off to the side.
So what say you all? Would you be up for a Kraven movie? Let me know…
