Time for a little Star Wars round-up, don’t you think? After all, it’s been a while…

Ok, first of all, rumours suggest that the title of Star Wars Episode VIII may have been revealed:

You think there’s anything to this? We doubt it but it’s sort of out job to tell you these things.

Ok, next, Making Star Wars reports Episode VIII may open with a pretty awesome fight taking place between Rey and Luke Skywalker against Kylo Ren and his Knights of Ren: “Luke and Rey are still on Ahch-To and the sun is setting in the background. It is also raining. Rey’s hair is apparently pulled back. Rey and Luke are confronted by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren (Adam Driver was spotted arriving in Belfast last week). Luke, Rey, Kylo and his Knights engage in a glorious-sounding lightsaber duel. Kylo Ren is unmasked and wearing the same costume and lightsaber as in The Force Awakens. Kylo is after revenge because Rey ‘disgraced him’ and they duel. Meanwhile, Luke is fighting with the Knights of Ren. He:

– Dispatches the first knight and ignites his green lightsaber.
– Proceeds to move through the Knights ruthlessly
– Rey and Kylo’s battle moves up to the side of a cliff.
– Suddenly Rey is nowhere to be seen. She’s taken out of the battle, either wounded or appears to go over the side of the cliff.
– Luke Skywalker casually walks towards Kylo to finish him but Kylo retreats when he sees Skywalker and his crew defeated.

“Impression I get is that Luke knew Kylo would run and allows him to. Luke’s behavior doesn’t indicate he believes Rey is killed or anything like that. My guess is they may film something back at Pinewood of Rey hanging on for life or injured on the side of the cliff. It sounds like Luke Skywalker arrives in time to save her from Kylo’s treachery and Rey is a really good free climber after all.”

Tell the truth, there’s nothing terribly unexpected in this… but it does sound spectacular.

Ok, more? Let’s shoot…

How about a never before seen teaser for ‘Revenge of the Jedi’, the original title of Return of the Jedi?: “The Academy Film Archive holds several trailers from the United States with the initial Revenge title, most of which announcing a May 25th 1983 release date which coincided with the anniversary of the original Star Wars stateside release in 1977. However, this peculiar and very brief Revenge of the Jedi teaser trailer originated from a cinema in the United Kingdom, where the film was originally being considered for a Christmas 1983 release. This rare teaser, preserved by the Academy Film Archive, was apparently shown with the U.K.’s May 1982 double feature re-release of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. American audiences would not get a glimpse of the third film until Star Wars was re-released in the U.S. in August 1982, meaning that this may be the earliest Revenge trailer distributed – and fans from across the pond got the first peek!”

Still not enough?!

Ok, ok…

How about this stunning poster for Star Wars Celevration Europe 2016 which marries The Force Awakens with Rogue One? We are loving this and hope we can find it in poster form in London this July… (more After image)

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
