Kevin Feige appeared at Brazil’s Comic-Con (CCXP) during the Marvel panel and, to the joy of the fans reportedly announced that director Jon Watts is back for the sequel to Spider-man: Homecoming.
We have also heard that the movie was touted as being called Spider-man: Back Home. But we can’t confirm that for now.
The tweet below is translated as reading: “Kevin Feige just confirmed in a video screened on the Marvel panel at #CCXP17 that Jon Watts will be the director of the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

In related news, a video has popped up online that seems to show a French actress called Fournier Louna reading for the part of… Gwen Stacey in the sequel!
Gwen was of course played by Bryce Dallas Howard in the Raimi movies and then Emma Stone in the Marc Webb movies, but she’s a big part of Spidey’s story, so we’re not entirely surprised to hear she may be back, this time in the MCU.
It is interesting that the young actress is French though… could this be part of the Character’s story here? It looks like her father will still be a cop in this version too.
Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 hits theaters on July 5, 2019.
