The MCU has found its Galactus and it’s a cracking choice!

May 15th, 2024 by Marc Comments

Well, it’s official, the biggest villain in the MCU is officially coming to devour worlds…

Yes, Marvel has found its Galactus and we’ll be meeting him next year when the Fantastic Four hits the big screen and he will be played by Ralph Ineson, star of The VVitch, Game of Thrones, The Office, Harry Potter and much more.

The actor took to social media to announce the news, saying: “World devouring cosmic villain is it? I’ll see what I can do”

The actor will be taking on Marvel’s First Family made up of stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/the Thing and they will all be joined by John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser and Ozark’s Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer.

Every comic fan knows that Galactus is basically a god who devours planets and his coming is always announced by his harbinger, the Silver Surfer. His addition to the MCU is massive – pardon the pun – as he has often been considered too big an enemy to do justice properly on the big screen but I think Ineson, left, especially with his gravelly voice (seriously, Google it), will knock this one out of the park.

While it seems that we’ll first meet the Fantastic Four in the multiverse, it’s unknown if Galactus will be from that reality or if he will cross over into the main MCU.

Whatever happens, with the last Transformers heralding the arrival of Unicron and now Galactus in the MCU, it seems there’s no bar on how big a character can be. And that’s just fine with me.

Thoughts?

Galactus and the Fantastic Four will arrive on July 25th, 2025.

The MCU has finally found its Fantastic Four! And it’s a heck of a cast
