It looks like two of the most badass (and there are a few) ladies in the Fast & Furious universe are back for the ninth instalment.
Vin Diesel shared a video on Instagram (below) recently in which he confirmed that Oscar-winners Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren were with him on the set with him… and, most likely, in the new movie too.
Theron played the cyberterrorist Cipher in Fate of the Furious while Mirren played Magdalene Shaw, mother of Deckard and Owen Shaw.
Mirren will be playing Shaw for the third time in the F&F universe as she also appears in Hobbs & Shaw which opens later this week.
Diesel also confirmed that newcomer John Cena is in the movie although he had already been confirmed in an image on the movie’s official Instagram (here).
I’m a massive fan of this franchise and having these two ladies back will be a treat… especially Cypher whose story was left hanging – literally – in the air.
Fast & Furious 9 is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2020.
