Tom Holland may be set to appear in Venom 2 this October…

Take it with a pinch of salt, but it seems that we’re going to get Spider-man in the Venom sequel and it will be Tom Holland under the mask.

Probably.

Well, maybe.

A new rumour has it that the MCU’s Peter Parker himself, Tom Holland, is in talks to have a glorified cameo in the Andy Serkis-directed movie starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom.

Now, there’s not much known here yet, except that this would certainly seem to fit with the deal Marvel/Disney and Sony struck when they got the third Spider-man movie up and running but it does raise many questions.

We know that the Sony movies are likely planning on developing the multiverse notion (which they started with Into The Spider-verse) with a planned Madame Web series (she sees the Spider-verse and is a guide for Peter Parker, Miles Morales etc int he coming) and we also know that Marvel/Disney are exploring a similar idea with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, so is it possible that while Holland appears he may be a different Spider-man?

Just throwing it out there… it would be the perfect (if a little frustrating) way to link the MCU and Sony universes while not having the characters overlapping in a way that feels forced… after all, DC did it already with The CW’s Arroverse’s Crisis on Infinite Earths (come at me).

What do yo all think? Will we eventually see Spider-man and Venom face-off on the big screen in this iteration? I believe we will.

Venom 2 will arrive this October… with or without Tom Holland.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
