UPDATED: Marvel Phase 2 pre-production artwork – Rocket Raccoon and The Winter Soldier added!

April 4th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

The website Geek Zenith has posted four pieces of concept art from two of Marvel’s Phase Two films: Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the Guardians of The Galaxy. The site sadly does not say where they came from. I thought maybe the Marvel Phase one 10 disc movie set, but they say they’re worried Marvel will take it down, which is interesting.

The first image is clearly from Captain America: The Winter Soldier and shows a fight between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and his old buddy Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who has now been transformed into the deadly assassin with a cybernetic arm, the Winter Soldier.

The next image is of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, which to me has a Star Wars Cantina vibe to it. I’m sure this is done on purpose as Marvel has compared the movie to Star Wars multiple times. It gives us another look at the film’s heroes: Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Groot and Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). Look at how upset Drax looks, if he’s anything like a Wookiee people better be careful they don’t get their arms ripped out.

The next image is of a big spaceship. My first thought is it might be the Icarus, the ship of the Guardians. The last image I thought to be from Thor 2: The Dark World, but it is now confirmed to be for Guardians as well.

What do you guys think?
