If you liked Baby Groot dancing at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy (who didn’t), then you’re going to love the sequel!
That’s right, star Vin Diesel recently engaged in a live video chat with fans on Facebook where he revealed to having just received the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, according to ComicBook.com.
After showering praise on the screenplay and its writer/director James Gunn, but he also admitted that fans who want to get their groove on won’t be disappointed. Woohoo!
“It’s ironic, because dancing is such a big part of this Guardians of the Galaxy script.”
“I can see why my son is so excited about this. James Gunn is such a great writer. I read this script and I go, ‘You’re a great director, and you’re this good a writer too.’ No wonder Marvel is so excited about what you’re doing. No wonder Marvel can’t wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Yeah, it’s one of those page turners, you cannot put the script down.”
“I have twenty more pages of this incredible script. Thank you James Gunn for making an incredible script again. You did it again. The world will be anticipating this.”
More of Groot dancing? This sits very well with us!

There’s nothing worse than the plot of your movie getting leaked before its released, much less before you even film it. But has Bradley Cooper let the cat (or should that be racoon?) out of the bag when it comes to a major spoiler for Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?
In an interview with MTV the actor (who will reprise his role as the loud-mouth genetically modified racoon Rocket in the sequel) may have let something slip he really shouldn’t have. Here’s the full video, but we’ll warn you, if this turns out to be true it’s massive spoiler territory (continues):
In the interview, when asked who the villain in the sequel will be, Cooper says “Josh Brolin will be the villain, at least he’s the main one… he plays what’s his name’s dad.”
Brolin has been seen in the MCU as Thanos, but if Cooper is to be believed, then the character could be revealed as the father of main Guardians hero Starlord (played by Chris Pratt) but we think he’s talking about Ronan The Accuser (see Gunn’s response below).
The best bit of the whole video is poor Bradley Cooper’s face when the interviewer says “we don’t know who his dad is,” with his Burnt co-star Sienna Miller giggling away to herself.
Guardians director James Gunn has taken to social media to set the record straight, releasing the following statement (continues):
If it is down to Cooper forgetting Thanos’ name and mistaking the villain Ronan the Accuser from the first film as his son, then we can forgive him. But, what if this is actually a slip of the tongue and Thanos is revealed to be Starlord’s father? That is one massive mistake we won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
We don’t think it’s a big reveal, we reckon that Cooper has simply forgotten Ronan and Thanos’ names and, given what we see in the firs movie, he’s guessing what will happen in the sequel. It’s a great example of just how little some of these actors really look into the roles they play. Seriously… pick up a comic!
We’re only kidding. Mostly.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is scheduled for a May 5, 2017 release.
