Warners may be looking into a new Justice League movie as Zack Snyder reveals Darkseid from his cut of first movie

June 17th, 2019 by Marc Comments

So, for all the great that Warners and DC have brought us, there’s no denying that Justice League was sa  a total disaster (I know at the time I gave it a glowing review but I have admitted several times that first night excitement got the better of me) and it’s been a constant wonder how exactly Warners would pick up moving forward.

Now, at the time there was a rumour going around that the movies would cover the Flashpoint storyline which sees The Flash going back in time to save his mother which sees the whole timeline disrupted and they would use this to recast major players in the movie.

And here we are, Affleck recast as a younger Robert Pattinson as Batman, Henry Cavill in perpetual doubt as returning as Superman, Cyborg and Flash actors Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher seemingly disappeared into production hell and the only memebers still standing are now Jason Momoa and Gal Gadot as Aquaman and Wonder Woman, so it could be argued that a Flashpoint of sorts has already happened.

But I digress.

New reports are that a new Justice League movie is being toyed with at WB and DC HQ.

The league is rumored to be made up of Batman, Superman, Batgirl, Black Canary, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern with Pattinson’s Batman being distanced from the group.

This makes sense, given that his movie trilogy will be set 20 years earlier than the current DCEU and will be a different continuity than the other movies – the same continuity (I believe), just at different points..

It also seems that Suicide Squad sequel director James Gunn will be overseeing the DC movie-verse moving forward.

On to of this, it seems that as the Pattinson movies and the other, prime DCEU movies move along, Warners are keen to find a way to merge them together down the line – my guess being a Flashpoint or Crisis-type event would be used to merge the timelines.

The inclusion of Momoa and Gadot in the movie along with characters fromt he upcoming Birds of Prey means it still seems pretty obvious these movies are all connected… the fact that DC will see it thrown around at different points in the timeline seems like a fun way to do things and, if they can bring the world together at some point, well, all the better.

I just need them to explain what happened to the older (Affleck) version of Batman/Bruce Wayne.

I related news, Man of Steel, Batman V Superman and small-part Justice League director Zack Snyder has shared new images on his Vero account from the Justice League he originally set out to make but that was later bastardised by Joss Whedon.

The first image sees our first look at Darkseid, or more accurately, Uxas, the young version of the character before he connects with the Omega Realm, making him essentially a god:

Sharp-eyed viewers will notice that the image (above) has Uxas in the flashback scene from the finished movie only he’s replacing Steppenwolf – who was used in the movie as the main villain – fighting the Atlaneans, humans, Amazons and gods.

This would have been so amazing to see in the movie and, of course, has done nothing more than egg-on the Release The Snyder Cut movement online who are campaigning hard to get Snyder’s original vision of the movie released.

Another image revealed by the film-maker has Cyborg looking at a vision of himself with his dead parents (his father dies in the Snyder cut) and it seems the scene takes place in the Knightmare world revealed in Batman V Superman but never developed further.

Ah, what could have been…

Let me know your thoughts on all this, folks.
