WATCH: Batgirl stunt actress shares cool scene from the now binned movie

While we still will likely never see the Batgirl movie, we have got a cool new stunt sequence from it that also reveals something that would have added to the movie’s fun as far as I am concerned.

Emely Cartagena, who was Batgirl star Leslie Grace’s Batgirl stunt double, has shared a stunt from the movie that sees Batgirl jumping into a function from on high, landing on a massive Christmas tree!

Yes, Batgirl, like Batman Returns – which also starred Michael Keaton as Batman – was set at Christmas! And we’ve been denied it!

The movie was originally set for a HBO Max release later this year and was then briefly considered for a cinematic release when ‘The new owners [at Warner Bros] and management, led by CEO David Zaslav, are committed to making DC titles big theatrical event films, and “Batgirl” isn’t that.’

Ouch.

Batgirl’s events would have seen Keaton’s Batman taking center stage, playing a role he last did back in 1992 in Batman Returns, leaving Ben Affleck’s Batman behind; this would be as a result of events in The Flash movie which would see Ezra Miller’s titular character altering time forever, removing Affleck’s Batman and instead bringing in Keaton’s.

However, it seems that this is no-longer the plan at DC/WB and, therefore, the movie had to be cut. After spending between $70 and $100m on it.

Honestly, I would have loved to see this movie no matter how bad it is, heck, they could have released it and made it clear it wasn’t part of the DCEU anymore, and the fans would have been happy. Probably. Maybe. It’s possible.

Anyway, check out the cool stunt below and consider that which we will never see. Probably. Maybe. You get the picture.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
