WATCH: DC’s Flash movie ‘definitely’ going ahead, says star Ezra Miller

If you’ve been following the DCEU and in particular all the news about the Justice League movie with Batflek leaving and Jason Mamoa getting run over by a steam roller, it’s not hard to see why people would think that DC are falling apart, but with almost everything going wrong that could possibly go wrong we’re starting to see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel with Erza Miller confirming that the Flash solo movie is 100 per cent going ahead (interview below).

So the Flash was meant to be the first solo movie after the Justice League, but with the struggle of getting directors  and without an actual script done it kept getting put on the burner until all that got sorted. Well it seems like that’s all sorted now and could possibly be the DCEU’s only answer to replacing Batflek while not messing with the story line.

Well this all has to do with the speed force, for those not up to date with your DC lore, the speed force is what the Flash can tap into to give him his power, this also allows him to travel in time.

Now, with time travel in mind, that opens up opportunity for a lot of things, along with one of my personal favorite DC storylines, Flash Point; in this story the flash goes back in time and messes with the timeline to save his mother from being killed which sends ripples throughout the universe and creates major changes – one of them being the death of Bruce Wayne and therefore the creation of a Thomas Wayne as Batman and a Martha Wayne Joker.

This is something that’s never been touched on with live action movies and could easily replace Batfleck as the caped crusader, also if this happens we could see the war between the Amazons and Atlantians which doesn’t seem likely with the way the Aquaman and Wonder Woman movies are going.

Still little is known as to a release date or even a production date for The Flash, however we can speculate since Fantastic Beasts 3 is due to start production next year so The Flash should ideally start production in 2021… but, really that all depends on how long Fantastic Beasts takes.

With so much storyline written for DC to use, I’m interested to see where they’ll go and what they’ll do next, and when you’re working with the Flash the possibilities are endless.
