It looks like the biggest feud in Hollywood may have been resolved.
It’s a well-chronicled conflict between Fast & Furious stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson that has been going on for a few years now, with Diesel reportedly upset at Johnson’s success in the series, especially after he got his own spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw.
But now Johnson has put a video on Instagram in which he seems to say the feud is over and Hobbs may be returning to the main franchise.
Talking about the success of Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson thanks the cast crew and fans before adding: “I want to thank brother Vin for your support of Hobbs & Shaw.”
He goes on to talk about his joining the franchise on 2011 and his desire to make it as great as it can be: “As you know, and what a wild ride this is, and what a wild ride this has been, ten years ago when you and I spoke and you invited me into the Fast & Furious family. I’m grateful for that invite, and as you know, my goal was always — all these years — to come into the Fast & Furious world and help elevate the franchise in any way that I possibly could.
If I could do that, then I’ve done my job. And now here we are ten years later, this massively successful build-out and expansion. We did it the right way, we did it the smart way, and again brother, I appreciate your support.”
and then: “And of course, all roads lead to one thing… I’ll be seeing you soon, Toretto.”
The Fast franchise is one of my biggest guilty pleasures and I’d love to see Hobbs back in it… honestly, I liked Hobbs & Shaw but I felt it had none of chemistry that the other movies have. It felt forced and a bit, well, empty despite Vanessa Kirby absolutely rocking in it… but the Fast universe is always growing, it’s good to know it’ll still have the whole family when it does.
