WATCH: New unused Clone Wars animatic shows how Boba Fett got his dented helmet

More awesomeness from Star Wars Celebration Orlando as we now have a canon answer about how Boba Fett got what is arguably the most famous dent in cinema.

The dent in Fett’s Helmet (see above) has been the subject of many a chat among fans and was explained in Dark Horse Comics’ series Enemy of the Empire as being the result of Fett tussling with Darth Vader. However, once Disney took over these stories were all deemed ‘legends’ which meant that, unless we’re told otherwise, none of them are canon.

Now a new clip (below) played at Celebration features an animatic from Star Wars: Clone Wars and has Fett facing off against Cad Bane, the bad ass bounty hunter in the show who we always suspected would eventually train Fett to be the universe’s most feared predator.

SPOILERS

The clip shows that in a duel Bane and Fett fired on each other with Fett sustaining the famous dent and Bane, well, it sort of looks like Bane is no longer a worry for the universe after this.

What do you all think? We love this and still hope that some day in the future we may yet see a return to the Clone Wars show… and a bounty hunter arc would be a great way to go.
