Well, it seems that we have the name and rough release date for Rian Johnson’s third (and final?) Benoit Blanc murder mystery movie.
Picking up from Knives Out and Glass Onion, the third movie will see Daniel Craig return as the not-at-all Sherlockian Blanc and will be called Wake Up Deadman – is it linked to U2’s song of the same name? Who knows, though Glass Onion was a Beatles song and had little to do with the terrible second movie.
When the first movie hit cinemas, Netflix swooped in and bought the rights to another two movies and when the third hits screens in 2025, that contract is fulfilled, so it’s unknown if more will follow (though the more of these Johnson makes, the less chance of him making the Star Wars movies he’s threatened in the past).
That said, the series has had many big names appear so far with Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, dward Norton, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr, Hugh Grant and Dave Bautista all popping up in the first two movies, so it’s likely there’s going to be another batch of famous faces appearing in the third chapter.
On Johnson’s tweet reveal, below, he says there’s “more to come very soon!”. We’ll keep you updated.
