It’s been an exhilarating ride for fans during the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From Iron Man in 2008 to this year’s Ant-Man, there’s been some incredible highs —and the odd low —that has ultimately paved the way for this critical phase, starting with Captain America: Civil War.

The video comes from YouTuber MCUExchange (via Squareeyed) and it wonderfully pieces together the formative stages of the MCU, using audio from Iron Man and Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor: The Dark World, Agents of SHIELD, Jessica Jones and more to portray the original goal of The Avengers and how things went rather awry.

Of course, Marvel fans are now now beginning to come off the incredibly high that went with seeing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man being introduced in the latest Civil War trailer, but this video will get you equally hyped for the upcoming slate from the MCU.

You have to appreciate the time and effort that went into making this video as he threads the previous events of Marvel movies into one cohesive narrative, setting the scene accurately and poignantly for Civil War — and that’s sure to be a seismic event in the context of the MCU’s future.

Enjoy…
