So far he’s played an American spy in The Man From U.N.C.L.E and most recently he’s taken on the role of Superman. However, Henry Cavill has his sights set on a role that will see him trade his cape for a tux and bring him much closer to home – James Bond.
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive as Daniel Craig’s time as 007 draws to a close. Word on the street has pitted Tom Hiddleston, Aidan Turner, Idris Elba and Damien Lewis against each other as the contenders to take on the role as James Bond but they’ve all remained fairly quiet and how they actually feel about their names being put forward.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Cavill gushed about how he would like to follow Daniel Craig in the coveted role. Cavill was considered for the role of 007 back in 2005 but he was only 22 years old at the time and in the end it was decided that he was too young for the role.
“Obviously I’m very busy with the Superman stuff but if there were any windows and they wanted me to do that kind of role it would be great and I would love to do it.”
So Henry Cavill has certainly made his feelings about playing James Bond known but who do you think should be the next James Bond? Let us know in the comments.
