Great news for fans of Zack Snyder and his zombie/sci-fi flick Army of the Dead as he and Netflix are reuniting to bring the sequel to the streamer in the near future.
The movie, which wasn’t anywhere near as great as I hoped (sorry), was fun and had left many questions about robot zombies, UFOs and alternate timelines, had a great premise – Ocean’s Eleven meets Dawn of the Dead – and certainly had high points but, sadly, it didn’t hit the mark.
That said…
I am looking forward to the Army of Thieves prequel and the upcoming animated series (here), so I will certainly welcome a sequel in the hope that it takes the ideas from the first movie and runs with them.
After all, there’s at least two definite directions a sequel could go, given the end of the movie.
Now, we learn that Snyder will start on Army of the Dead 2 after he finishes his sci-fi epic Rebel Moon with the streamer (here).
To be fair, the movie was watched by 75 million households in its first 28 days on Netflix and shot into the streamers top ten most-watched movies, so it’s not a great surprise that, after Snyder’s abysmal treatment by Warner Bros, Netflix want to keep him on board.
No word on a cast or anything else at the minute but we’ll keep you posted as and when we get more but, in the meantime, we have lots of Army of the Dead content to keep us happy in the near future.
Thoughts? I want them…
