WATCH: A wargamer adventure to Adepticon 2014

April 10th, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

So the adventure truly began in sunny Manchester where we played Dropzone Commander and Dreadball while we waited for the taxi to arrive. No sleep for myself as I was far too excited. Taxi came and picked us up nice and early, and off we went for our first flight to Heathrow. We arrive at Manchester and go through all customs.

We make it to Heathrow and it is time for our eight hour and 45 minute flight to the USA. We arrive with  no problems and we get picked up by fellow youtuber FamileyWargamers777 ”Coach”. I warned him that he was driving on the wrong side of the road…

So we arrive at the convention a day early but all the gaming tournaments had begun already. There were 40k,Fantasy,Maulifaux,Warmachine & Hordes. They were all the big games that were there. They were the other companies such as Bolt Action, Journey Wrath of demons and Darkage but they were later in the weekend.

So one the best sights there was the fantastic Crystal Brush entries that was a wonder to bear eyes upon. Here is a video of most of the entries for 2014:

The vendor hall this year was apparently a lot bigger than last year, having a lot more independent companies there. The companies there were super awesome but I wanted to see a lot more.

Overall I was super impressed with my first ever visit to Adepticon and would suggest tabletop wargamers to visit at least once – great people and awesome games.
