It looks like Castlerock Season 2 is lining up as many iconic King characters as season 1… and it has the actors to make it something special.
The lastest addition is Cloverfield star Lizzy Caplan who will play Misery’s Annie Wilkes – the role made infamously famous by Kathy Bates in the movie Misery.
Joining her is Tim Robbins as crimeboss Reginald “Pop” Merrill.
Garret Hedlund will play John “Ace” Merrill, the bully who is taking over his uncle’s business and threatening a fragile peace with nearby Jerusalem’s Lot – the role wasmade famous by Keifer Sutherland in Stand By Me.
Matthew Alan will portray Chris Merrill, Pop’s nephew and Ace’s brother.
Yusra Warsama will play Dr Nadia Omar, the medical director of a rural hospital in Jerusalem’s Lot (another famous King location in the novels) whose rational and scientific mind will be put to the test. Barkhad Abdi will is Abdi Omar, Nadia’s tough, older brother
Elsie Fisher will play Joy, Annie’s home-schooled teenage daughter who is starting to have questions about her mother’s sanity.
It’s unlikely any of the original cast will return for season 2 as the idea of the series is to tell a ffresh tale each season… but we wouldn’t entirely rule out nods or cameos.
