Could Fantastic Four or something bigger be in TV’s Agents of SHIELD’s future?

Could TV’s Agents of SHIELD be used to introduce the MCU’s Fantastic Four?

We’d say naw, but after Ghost Rider being introduced in the show and The Punisher, Daredevil and the rest all appearing on TV rather than on the MCU’s big screen outings, we’d have to say nothing would surprise us.

But where is this coming from? Well…

Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel TV, took part in a Reddit AMA (because of Cloak and Dagger’s TV appearance) but in the AMA – no surprise – the fans went beyond Cloak and Dagger and into he bigger MCU.

“Am I crazy, or are you guys producing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to be the epic prologue to something more? Can you elaborate or hint towards the future of the show now that it’s been renewed for Season 6,” asked one fan.

Then Loeb’s answer was decided cryptic but certainly interesting: “You’re not crazy. But that’s all I can say!”

Honestly, we’re going to say that it being Fantastic Four is a bit of a stretch – especially given that, at the minute, Fantastic Four is still Fox’s and with Comcast making life difficult for Disney (here) nothing is concrete yet, so we reckon Reed Richards and his crew appearing on SHIELD is very unlikely.

That said, the show would do well to do something to tie it back into the MCU, which it has been far removed from for a few season now… we’d imagine it could be a tie into the events of Infinity War more than the appearance of new characters.

But never say never…

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will return in summer o2019.
