The Christmas episode of Doctor Who has quickly become a tradition for the series. We’ve also seen they’re not afraid to go big on them either, as last years Christmas special was the final episode for Matt Smith (no, Deep Breath doesn’t count). So, what can we expect from this year’s special? Well a short (and very vague…) synopsis details some things we’ve already picked up, but does tie it all nicely together with some new tidbits.
“The Doctor and Clara face their Last Christmas. Trapped on an Arctic base, under attack from terrifying creatures, who are you going to call? Santa Claus!”
Again, it’s short, but…that’s not all the new info we’ve gotten. There’s more and more rumors circulating about whether Jenna Coleman will pull a Matt Smith and make the Christmas special her last episode. The latest rumor points to no, but it’s why that’s interesting…
“When it came to Clara they had to tear the scripts up and start again. In the original draft of the script, she became an old woman who then died with the Doctor at her side. But after they were rewritten, she will now be seen returning to the TARDIS, hand in hand with the Doctor.”
