My relationship with the TV series, Heroes, has been strenuous, to say the least. While I was a massive fan of the first season, I disliked the second (which admittedly may have been better, if not for the season being kneecapped by the writers’ strike) and the third season was very hit and miss. I did not even watch the fourth season, due to series three’s fluctuation in quality.
With all this being said, I will admit that I am curious about this resurrection of the cult TV series with Heroes Reborn. It seems to focus on a new group of Heroes, but also has a number of the old cast returning. So far, we have been informed that, Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Masi Oka are reprising their roles.
However, today a fifth returning character has been announced. This actor is Sendhil Ramamurthy, who played Dr. Mohinder Suresh (above). It is worth noting though that Ramamurthy will only appear for a “guest arc” in the series.
Very little else is known about how he will function in the story or what his overall purpose will be. Hopefully with Tim Kring returning to shepherd the series, this will mark a return to form for Heroes and restore its once prestigious position on television.
