Eek! Game of Thrones Season 6 may face a delay because winter isn’t coming soon enough…

One thing that we have always known was that winter is coming. Or, more importantly, April is coming… and bringing new Game of Thrones (yes, we know Season 3 kicked off on March 31st but we’re being dramatic, ok?!).

But next year that may no longer be true…

Speaking to the guys on the UFC Unfiltered podcast (yes, really) showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said that next year, due to, ironically, winter coming, the show may not hit the April air date: “We don’t have an air date yet, but this year it’ll be a little bit later,” they said.

“We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here,’ and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”

It’s a fair reason, you know, nature and all, but dammit! After the finale of Season 6 we don’t want to wait until tomorrow let alone May or June next year…

What about you guys? Let us know.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
