It wouldn’t be the 50th Anniversary special without The Doctors oldest foes popping up to cause mayhem, would it?
Having been in the hit sci-fi series since its inception, the Daleks celebrate their own half century this year and will appear in the BBC1 show to mark the milestone.And these images – released by the BBC moments ago – show them in the middle of a brutal battle during the infamous Time War.
Show runner Steven Moffat said: ‘The Doctor once said that you can judge a man by the quality of his enemies, so it’s fitting that for this very special episode, he should be facing the greatest enemies of all.’
The episode, which is expected to be almost the length of a movie, will unite Matt Smith with his predecessor in the role of the Doctor, David Tennant, as they also encounter classic series enemies The Zygons.
