First look at Burt Ward – and friend – from The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths… and who he may be playing

It looks like we have our first look at Burt Ward, he of Robin fame from the 1960s Batman series, as he will appear in The CW’s big Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

Ward’s role in the series has so far been kept hush-hush  and it still is to all intents and purposes, however we now may have an idea of his role going but the first image:

Now, the image is almost certainly a link to this:

This means that Ward is likely playing himself in the series, but an alternate superhero version and, yes, that’s pretty much Ace: The Bathound with him.

This all said, I still believe he may still be an older version of Dick Grayson/Robin as we last met him in the 1960s as the set dressing, although not clear in these images, was reportedly very 1960s… I think that would be perfect – imagine if, on his earth, Batman died and Robin became Gotham’s saviour – maybe even Nightwing?

Let me know your thoughts.

Crisis on Infinite Earths kicks off Sunday, December 8th on Supergirl, then continues with a Monday episode of Batwoman and that Tuesday’s The Flash. After a month-long holiday break, it concludes with the Jan. 14 episode of Arrow and a special instalment of Legends of Tomorrow.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
