FIRST LOOK: Tyler Hoechlin is wearing the Black Suit in new image from this year’s Arrowverse crossover

October 16th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Well, here’s a thing…

Arrow star Stephen Amell shared the image above on his Twitter featuring himself and Flash star Grant Gustin with The CW’s Superman Tyler Hoechlin and look at the suit… it’s black! In case you hadn’t noticed.

So what does this mean?

Well, for a start if means The CW got to use the black suit while Justice League couldn’t (here) but it also means something big may have happened off screen

In the comics the black suit debuted in the Death and Return of Superman story arc to revitalize Superman’s Kryptonian cells after he was killed by Doomsday and when Superman returned he wore the suit for a period of time until he got back to full strength.

But here’s what we’re wondering… could Superman be the villain in the Elseworlds crossover event?

Hear us out. Remember in Justice League when Superman returned to life he come back wrong? Well, what if, while Superman was off planet – he left at the end of last season – Superman was killed and has returned but is now evil? Could this be why the heroes unite to fight him?

And we know Elizabeth Tulloch is Lois Lane in the crossover (here) so maybe, as in Justice League, she will be the key in bringing Superman back to the side of the angels?

Anyway… that’s all we have so far.

Thoughts?
