You may recall I reported a while ago that Marvel and Hulu were working on Ghost Rider and Helstrom shows with Ghost Rider continuing on with the character as firsr portrayed in Agents of SHIELD by Gabriel Luna.
Well, it seems that these shows are just the tip of the iceberg if the rebrading is anything to go by.
Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb has expanded on what they are working on with Hulu and the darker characters from the MCU, with the series now going under the banner Adventure Into Fear rather than the originally announced Spirits of Vengeance: “We always knew that we were going to do something with Ghost Rider, we were just waiting for the right place to put it. Then we started having the same conversation, which was there is in the comic book world the Spirit of Vengeance, and they are this sort of unusual group of characters, which involve Ghost Rider, which involve Helstrom, which involve Helstrom’s sister, Anna.
“We suddenly saw that there were three or four shows that we could put together that we now refer to as Adventure into Fear.”
Marvel fans will know that the the 70s comic with the same name focuses on the horror side of the MArvel universe with MAn-Thing and Morbius fronting the stories, however with Sony filming a Morbius movie with Jared Leto at the minute, it’s unlikely he’ll appear.
Adventure Into Fear was a classic 1970s Marvel Comics horror title which focused primarily on stories featuring Man-Thing and Morbius: “What we love is the notion of how we can present a Marvel hero who was truly feared and truly believed that they were a monster, but that, as the stories go on, they realize, oh, I’m the hero of the story, I’m not the villain of the story. That’s not something we’ve ever done before.”
But then he teases: “We started with Ghost Rider, we went out and managed to get Gabriel Luna to come back and reproduce the role he played on [Agents of SHIELD] Then we’re going to do Helstrom… and then there’s a couple more that we haven’t yet revealed to the world.”
Hmmmmmmm… who do you think might appear in future series? Let me know.
