Heroes was Reborn but sadly not renewed

It seems that the fate of Heroes Reborn is set to follow the same fate of its predecessor, Heroes.

Since its premiere in September, Heroes Reborn has not had the traction that its predecessor once had. With its viewing figures even lower that Heroes season 4, it has now been confirmed by NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt that the miniseries will not continue after this years conclusion: “That was always the plan,” he said, “unless [Tim Kring] woke up one day and said, ‘Oh, I have another chapter to tell.’ But I think we’re coming to the end of the world, maybe.”

When pressed about Kring’s statement of a possibility of multiple spin-offs in the future, Greenblatt denied the possibility: “As far as I know, there’s no more incarnations of ‘Heroes’ coming.”

I loved Heroes when it first aired in 2006, however in 2010 when I heard the news of Heroes being cancelled I wasn’t too fazed. The series was once brilliant but season by season it got worse until it slowly died down and it was time for it to end.

Heores Reborn started off with the same enthusiasm as Heroes season 4 ended, this was its main downfall. It’s a shame that a concept so good is scrapped so quickly. I expect we won’t see the last of Heroes, give it 10 years and they may fully reboot it, but we will likely see the last of this storyline.

The final episode of Heroes will air next week on 21st January 2016.

Heroes Reborn saw the return of Jack Coleman as H.R.G., Jimmy Jean-Louis as The Haitian, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, and Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, to our screens once again along with a whole new cast of Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski, Gatlin green, Ryan Guzman, Sendhil Rama, urthy and Rya Kilstedt.

The revival begins a year after a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Levi) and Joanne (Shekoni), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss. Noah Bennet, aka HRG (Coleman), has gone off the grid, but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Zebrowski) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.
