Get ready for the new daily show

Is the end also in sight for Daredevil and Jessica Jones at Netflix?

Oh, boy.

With the cancellation of Luke Cage and Iron Fist in the last couple of weeks at Netflix (here) – and Defenders season 2 was announced as not happening a while back before this all – fans have been looking to the other MCU shows at Netflix and if a new report from Business Insider is to be believed, then Daredevil and Jessica Jones could be in trouble too.

The report says that, while Netflix don’t release viewing figures for their shows the social network buzz on the shows is telling of the worries that may have seen two of The Defenders fall already.

Netflix and Marvel TV recently announcing cancellations for Iron Fist and Luke Cage, now it is rumored that Daredevil and Jessica Jones could be next.

Business Insider posted a report how they received data that the social buzz surrounding the Marvel TV Netflix shows has plummeted, which might be an indicator of what exactly has already killed off two of The Defenders.

Regarding the online buzz surrounding Luke Cage, it went from having over 300,000 Twitter and Instagram posts about the first season to taking a huge dive with 50,000 for its second season.

Iron Fist tanked as well going from 120,000 posts on Twitter and Instagram for Season 1 to less than 20,000 for Season 2.

Likewise, Jessica Jones went from 300,000 posts on Twitter and Instagram to half that for the second season.

Daredevil however – as unquestionably the best of the Netflix MCU shows – is fairing a bit better:  275,000 posts for Season 1,  200,000 for Season 2, and 75,000 for season three… however that was only for half of October, so the final number will rise but will still likely fall well short of the first two seasons.

If this is a fair gauge for the shows’ performances then there’s reason to believe that Netflix and Marvel may well be looking at pulling the plug altogether…

Thoughts?
