Well, hello there…
So, among the rumours of an Ewoks series, a Yoda series and others in development at Lucasfilm/Disney to appear on the Disney+ subscription service, one stands out and we have to back it because we can actually see it happening.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Series.
Yes, please.
You may recall that before Solo: A Star Wars Story took a major nosedive in the money-making department (despite being pretty good) an Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story movie was set to film this April with Stephen Daldry helming.
Then Disney, scared by Solo’s non-money-making, pulled out and cancelled it.
Well, it seems Obi-Wan is alive and well in the Star Wars universe, but he may have a different home now.
Now Star Wars News are reporting: “We were told that an Obi-Wan Kenobi limited TV series is happening, is the next top priority for the Disney+ streaming service, and that it could be as many as six episodes.”
Is this why Ewan McGregor was at the Solo premiere? Is this what Bob Iger meant when he said they were ‘rethinking their approach’ to the Star Wars universe? Who knows…
But I will say this, i do NOT have a bad feeling about this.
