Since DC’s Arrow has spawned two shows with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow it should be no surprise that the success of Krypton has created its own spin-off with a solo Lobo series in the works at Syfy.
With season 2 of Krypton steadily underway, Emmett J Scanlan will continue his role as Lobo from Krypton to his own venture as we will get to see the foul-mouthed, intergalactic bounty hunter on his voyages throughout the galaxy.
Now with Lobo not being as well known as other DC villains such as The Joker and Darkseid here’s a little bit of a rundown of the character so you know what to expect: He is the last surviving member of the planet Czarnia, which shouldn’t be a surprise considering he’s the one who killed them all. Lobo roughly translates to “He who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it” while he indulges in his vices which are mindless violence, intoxication and killing.
With the working title “Lobo” it’s set to be produced and written by Krypton executive producer Cameron Welsh which I think is a must if you’re going to be doing a spin-off, you want someone that’s written the character before and knows how to work with them if they’re going to be reprising their role.
So far we have no news as of a release date but it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to assume the better Krypton does, the quicker we may get to see the spin-off.
