MTV’s Scream series getting official ending as new novel announced

You all know by now that the Scream series is one of my favorite IPs and I’ve been giddy as a kid at Christmas over the recent releases of Scream V and VI but you might not know that, as big a fan as I am, the TV is a hole in my knowledge.

Yup, I’ve never watched the series, even though I’ve heard mostly good things about it, its concept an the direction it goes as opposed to the movies, so it’s definitely on y watch list and it seems that I have a reason to do so now.

See, one of the things that will stop me from getting invested in a TV series – or even movie series – is if it’s cancelled before it has an ending; I hate unfinished stories and I have enough of those without jumping into more and, sadly, the Scream series was never wrapped.

Scream VII to be set at Christmas? Freaky writer now onboard?

Until now.

One of my favourite Scream YouTubers, Beyond the Mask, has announced that he has been given the go-ahead to officially write a novel to wrap up the MTV Scream series.

That’s pretty cool.

“Have you ever wondered what happened to the Lakewood 6 following the end of Scream: Season Two?” He says on social media,  “Or who the mystery killer was that murdered Kieran Wilcox in prison? Well thankfully, all of this is about to be answered.”

While there are sparse details on the release yet, he says that initially, it will be a Kindle release he has bigger plans for next year: “The book will be released via Amazon Kindle, but is looking to be released physically into next year.”

Sounds like that book is written and we may be getting to see it very soon. This might just be the excuse I needed to get the series watcherd.

Thoughts?

Scream is a standalone serialized anthology series that follows a group of teenagers being stalked and targeted by a masked serial killer. The first two seasons, set in the fictional town of Lakewood, Louisiana, follow the story of Emma Duval, a teenage girl, who is linked to the horrific events of the town’s past.

Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s FacebookTwitter and Instagram

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
