Get ready for the new daily show

Netflix release images, cast (all of Hollywood are in it!) and synopsis for The Dark Crystal: Age of resistance

December 17th, 2018 by Marc Comments

So Netflix dropped a tease for Dark Crystal fans earlier today, saying that tomorrow is the 36th anniversary of the movie which seems… fortuitous.

Here’s what they wrote:

And we were wondering if maybe we were going to get a trailer or better still, the full release of new prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of resistance and, while we’re still not sure what is happening, we have loads more information than we did are the start of the day.

We have these cool images:

And, from what we can gleam these characters are Gelfling heroes Rian, Brea, and Deet played by Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nathalie Emmanuel.

But on top of that the series also has Caitriona Balfe, Helena Bonham-Carter, Harris Dickinson, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Toby Jones , Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Mark Hamill, Harvey Fierstein, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Simon Pegg and Andy Samberg.

Holy crap! Mark Hamill! Simon Pegg! That cast is astonishing!

And we have now got an official synopsis too:

The world of Thra is dying. The Crystal of Truth is at the heart of Thra, a source of untold power. But it is damaged, corrupted by the evil Skeksis, and a sickness spreads across the land. When three Gelfling uncover the horrific truth behind the power of the Skeksis, an adventure unfolds as the fires of rebellion are lit and an epic battle for the planet begins.

We have no idea when this is going to drop but we’re very, very excited for it!

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
