Peter Calpadi Wants Doctor Who to Meet Martin Luther King

November 17th, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Doctor who has a history of meeting famous people in…well history. Just this series alone saw him meet Robin Hood. But when the Doctor himself Peter Capaldi was asked about who he wants the Doctor to meet, he had a very impactful answer.

Martin Luther King.

“I don’t see why the Doctor shouldn’t be involved in the civil rights struggle. Those Ku Klux Klan guys – what’s going on there?”

Mark Gatiss, who has written several episodes of the series had this to say on the idea, “I think it would be really interesting but it would be a big challenge because you’d have to work out exactly the tone of the adventure.”

Very true, as Martin Luther King is respected by many in many countries, but I think between him, Moffat, and the slew of Doctor Who writers who have proven themselves creative, something could be worked out. I’m totally up for this, how about you?
