Reboots ahoy with new The Fugitive and Walker, Texas Ranger remakes!

Big news coming out of Hollywood this week with two classics getting the 20th century makeover, The Fugitive and Walker, Texas Ranger are both getting brand new TV series with big stars to boot.

Kiefer Sutherland has been cast in the main role of detective Clay Bryce for The Fugitive which will be aired on Quibi. He’ll be hunting down Mike Ferro played by Boyd Holbrook in the action packed series directed by Stephen Hopkins. Just below you can check out the official description to get a glimpse of what you can expect:

“When a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on, blue-collar Mike Ferro (Holbrook) just wants to make sure his wife, Allison, and 10-year-old daughter, Pearl, are safe. But the faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully—and very publicly—accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop (Sutherland) heading the investigation can apprehend him.”

As for Walker, Texas Ranger, this is a show plenty of people have heard of but not many people these days have seen. Originally done in the 90s with Chuck Norris, this new version will feature a member of one of the world’s favorite demon hunting duo, Jared Padalecki.

With Supernatural coming to an end it’s not surprising that we should be seeing Padaleki’s name pop up now and then for roles but these are some big shoes to fill, he has the face women love, but does he also have the gravitas to pull it off? Well Anna Fricke seems to think so as she’s currently developing the new take on the series in which we’ll see Walker return to his family after two years under cover only to realize there’s still more work to be done.

So with Keifer Sutherland and Jared Padalecki both taking on fairly iconic roles, I can only hope they can both do them justice, I mean who knows, Walker, Texas Ranger could go for as long as Supernatural.

Stay tuned for more details and stay nerdy.
