Well, in a universe that lately has seen more than one dead character return – Laurel Lance and Captain Cold, anyone? – it looks like another is set to reappear.

Yes, it seems Robbie Amell is set to return as Ronnie Raymond (above), the original Firestorm, in The Flash.

Now just how he will return is unknown; flashback, different earth version, dream scene, it’s all fair game in a comic book universe, really.

We do know it’ll be in a winter episode, so that means in the next few weeks, probably.

Caitlin Snow’s (Danielle Panabaker) late husband was initially thought dead in the particle accelerator explosion but instead had been transformed into one half of the metahuman known as Firestorm with Martin Stein (Victor Garber). Shortly after marrying Caitlin, Ronnie died destroying the singularity that opened up the world to Earth-2. Ronnie’s Earth-2 doppelgänger was revealed to be a villain named Deathstorm, who died at the hands of Zoom (Teddy Sears).

So what do you all reckon? How will Ronnie return? Let us know your theories…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
