SDCC 2013: Bad Robot’s Almost Human looks to please Fringe fans

July 20th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Fans of Fringe rejoice, you have not been forgotten about! The new Bad Robot show Almost Human made its debut at Comic Con followed by a Q&A with stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Lili Taylor, Minka Kelly and executive producers J.H. Wyman and Naren Shankar.

During the Q&A segment Wyman said his inspiration for the show came from “wanting to make Fringe fans happy…it has a lot of the great things that Fringe had in it. It’s going to be something different but something special.” This came before Wyman made an open casting call for all Fringe cast alums.

I really can’t wait for this show to air now as the report states those that got to view the pilot gave it massive applause when it was finished. Now my thing is, can this show take place in the same universe as Fringe? Sure it would be great to see Anna Torv or Jasika Nicole show up for an episode or a story arc, but how much cooler would it be if Olivia or Astrid stopped by instead. The guys at Bad Robot are super clever and inventive which is the main reason why I love the projects that come out of Abrams’ studio, I know they can find a way to make it work! When Bad Robot is involved anything is possible.

Almost Human premieres Monday, November 4th at 8:00pm eastern on FOX. Here’s the official trailer.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
