Star Trek: Discovery gets release date PLUS first look at Jason Isaacs as a Starfleet captain

June 21st, 2017 by Marc Comments

A couple of cool details from the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery series.

Firstly, you can stop thinking it’s never going to get released because we now know it’ll be landing on September 24th:

Next, we have our first look at Jason Isaacs as captain Gabriel Lorca (below). It’s sort of awesome to see a Starfleet uniform on the small screen again, isn’t it?

Star Trek: Discovery will consist of 15 episodes in total, launching on September 24th with the premiere on CBS. After that, however, the rest of the episodes will be available exclusively on CBS’s streaming service CBS All Access.

Star Trek, one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns to television 50 years after it first premiered with STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. STAR TREK: DISCOVERY will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
